Skegness
and East Lincolnshire has a number of Blue Flag award beaches
offering excellent quality water suitable for swimming and other
water sports.
The long sandy
beach at Skegness is a Blue Flag award winner and approved by the
Marine Conservation Society as offering consistently excellent
quality water. The beach is cleaned daily and has a lifeguard on duty
during the summer season. There is a first aid post, toilets, cafes
and other food outlets adjacent to the beach. Other activities close
by include crazy golf, bowls, boating lake and gardens. Several car
parks are available close to the beach. Skegness railway station is
just five minutes walk. No dogs are allowed on the beach from May to September.
Just north of
Skegness is Ingoldmells beach. A sandy beach close to the theme park
and several holiday parks. Cafes and shops are adjacent to the beach
as well as toilets and nearby parking facilities.
The village of
Chapel St Leonards has a beach which is mixed sand and shingle. There
are two cafes, a bar and toilet facilities adjacent to the beach. The
Well Vale pay and display car park is just a few minutes walk. There
are areas of the beach where dogs are banned during the summer months.
The beautiful
sandy beach of Anderby between Skegness and Mablethorpe has a beach
café and ample parking facilities. Dogs are not allowed on the
beach between May and September.
The large
sandy beach at Sutton-on-Sea near Mablethorpe offers a peaceful
retreat from some of the more commercialised coastline areas. This
Blue Flag award winning beach is cleaned daily and has a lifeguard
present during the summer months. First aid post, toilet facilities
and car parking are all close by. A café and restaurant is
situated on the promenade. Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May
to September.
Mablethorpe
town sandy beach is another Blue Flag award winner. There are a good
range of eating outlets available. Other facilities include bowling,
crazy golf and amusement arcades, plus beach hut and deck chair hire.
Car parking and toilet facilities are available adjacent to the beach. |
